One of our goals for reading today was to build our reading stamina! Last week, we were reading for 5 minutes and this week we bumped it up to 8! Room 204 has such focused readers!

Solar Eclipse 8/21
In preparation for the eclipse today, we brainstormed wonderings, researched our questions, and learned more about why the eclipse happens. We created our own chalk art representing totality and hole punched note cards to observe crescent shadows. Outside, we made 4 different observations of how the eclipse changed and kept track of temperature changes. Between our observations, we kicked back to watch, ate snacks, and drank Capri SUNS. 😉
What a cool experience!
